Tools, frameworks, and other product thinking stuff I recommend.
I am tools agnostic and mostly believe in picking the right tool for the job. Always starting with why, is the job important and what is the job, before selecting a tool.
Frameworks
Outcome driven product management
I try and steer folks towards outcomes as opposed to outputs. Have found works of Clayton Christensen, Don Norman, Dieter Rams to have a great deal of influence on me.
Workstation
Mac Mini, Intel, 64GB RAM (2018)
I use a desktop computer as it helps me focus on work and not carry my work around, which is also a forced work life balance choice.
LG 4K Display
Prefer a large, not the largest screen to work on interface design.
Development tools
Visual Studio Code
I dabble with code sometimes and find Studio to be just fine for me.
Xcode
Very effective to make prototypes that are close to the real app.
Design tools
Figma
Great to collaboratively design, prototype, visualise and hand off specifications.
Sketch
Still like the tool and good for exploring Apple's design kit.
Framer Classic
Loved this tool to do highly interactive prototypes and was starting to get to grips with CoffeeScript.
Productivity
Notes
Simple, easy to write notes.
Clear
Helps focus on clear goals.
Pen, paper and book
Versatile, tactile and helps my brain unwind.
